About IYASC
Welcome to the home page of the Iyengar Yoga Association of Southern California, the source for the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar in Southern California.
The Iyengar Yoga Association of Southern California (IYASC) is a non-profit educational organization that coordinates the activities of Iyengar Yoga in Southern California. It owns and operates the IYENGAR YOGA INSTITUTE OF LOS ANGELES (IYILA).
IYASC is an affiliate with the B.K.S. IYENGAR YOGA NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF THE U.S. (IYNAUS), committed to the dissemination and promotion of the art, science and philosophy of Yoga according to the teachings of Yogacharya B.K.S. Iyengar. Our local association does much of the behind the scenes work necessary to provide our yoga community with quality instruction and support for a solid practice.
IYASC sponsors quarterly events (free to all members) aimed at sharing information about B.K.S. Iyengar and his work, highlighting topics in Indian culture, and bringing together the community. The association sponsors members' workshops, parties, movie nights, and other events. It has a lending library of books and videos on the teachings of Iyengar yoga. In addition, the association publishes a newsletter two times a year.
